Studee is a start-up in the ed-tech space, we help international students to find their dream university online and universities to find the best students to enrol at their institution.

We are looking to add to our team and are currently recruiting for a Student Admissions Advisor.

The job is hybrid, with 2 days in the office in Cirencester and the remainder working from home. If you want to attend the office more frequently you are of course welcome to.

Job Specifics

The primary responsibility of this position is to assess both student and EA (Educational Advisor) student applications in accordance with university admissions requirements. The role is crucial in ensuring a high conversion rate of applications to university offers, with a minimum acceptance rate of 75%. This involves actively managing and resolving any assessment-related issues through outbound communications with students, Educational Advisors, and university account managers.

Principle responsibilities

  • Assessment of Applications: Thoroughly assess both student and EA student applications to ensure they meet the specific admissions requirements of the University.
  • Achieve Conversion KPIs: Work diligently to achieve and maintain a high conversion rate from application assigned to University offer, ensuring a minimum acceptance rate of 75%.
  • Communicate Effectively: Manage outbound communications with students, Education Agents and University account managers to address and resolve any issues related to assessment of applications.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Keep accurate and detailed notes of assessments in E451, communications and outcomes to support continuous improvement and compliance with University admissions standards.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve complex application issues, applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills to maintain the integrity of the admissions process.
  • Request Data Updates: Upon communications of any changes related to the University (contacts, program data, University data) profile, report them to the Data team so their profile can be updated.
  • Mentor and Support Junior Team Members: Actively assist and guide junior admissions advisors in the assessment and submission of applications, ensuring they understand and adhere to all university admissions criteria and processes. Provide ongoing support to develop their skills and confidence in managing application workflows.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with other admissions team members and departments to streamline the admissions process and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Provide Feedback: Offer feedback to University Services, EA Services and Data to increase future conversion rates.

  • Quality Assurance: Verify that the application we submit to the university meets their entry requirements and upholds the highest standards.

  • Effective Communication: Proficiency in managing outbound communications with students, Education Agents, and University account managers to resolve issues and provide clear guidance.
  • Feedback Provision: Capability to provide constructive feedback to other departments, including University Services, EA Services, and Data teams, to enhance future conversion rates.

  • Accuracy in Record-Keeping: Ensuring all assessments, communications, and outcomes are meticulously documented in E451 to support compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Data Management: Attention to detail when requesting updates to university profiles, ensuring all changes are accurately communicated and reflected.

  • Issue Resolution: Ability to identify and resolve complex application issues promptly, applying critical thinking and creative solutions to maintain process integrity.

Organisational Skills

  • Task Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently, ensuring that all applications are processed in a timely manner and in accordance with university standards.
  • Prioritisation: Skill in prioritising tasks, such as assessments and communication, to meet tight deadlines and achieve KPIs.

Interpersonal Skills

  • Relationship Building: Developing strong relationships with students, Education Agents, and university representatives to facilitate smooth communication and issue resolution.

Technical Proficiency

  • Proficiency in CRM Systems: Familiarity with using CRM systems like E451 for documenting and managing application assessments and communications.
  • Data Reporting: Ability to accurately report data changes to the Data team and ensure that profiles are up to date.
