Job Description Location: Wotton-under-Edge, GL12 8JR (20 minutes north of Bristol) Salary: Up to £47,500, depending on experience Hybrid working: 1 day per week in the office, 4 days from home (4.5 day working week) Renishaw is one of the world’s leading engineering and scientific technology companies, with expertise in high precision metrology, healthcare, and Additive Manufacturing (AM). As a Senior Software Engineer at Renishaw, you’ll be responsible for the analysis, design, development, and integration of software components analysing, visualising, and managing real-time data generated throughout the AM 3D printing process. You’ll be part of our InfiniAM Software Suite team, using Agile methodologies, DevOps practices and collaborative software engineering tools. Our software is developed using C# (.NET Core), C++, and other design and configuration technologies. You’ll gain specific domain knowledge and be actively involved in the state-of-the-art technology solutions from R&D projects. From time to time there will be a need to attend site to carry out certain tasks and we’re likely to ask you to attend more often during key phases of projects. Responsibilities Participate in and lead the software development lifecycle: specification, design, and test-driven development, through to verification, deployment, and maintenance of software components. Collaborate as part of an Agile Software team, ensuring quality, timeliness, value, and requirements are at the forefront. Contribute towards continuous improvement and innovation of AM software projects. Critique development and process practices, then refine and promote innovation and improvement to code quality, product delivery and team effectiveness. Mentor junior team members by imparting domain knowledge and fostering excellent software engineering practices by example. Through regular collaboration with domain experts and software engineers across a range of AM disciplines, establish a thorough understanding of the hardware and software ecosystem. Key requirements A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, another relevant STEM subject, or demonstrable equivalent experience. Experience of developing C# components. Experience of developing WPF applications. Experience within an Agile development, using DevOps practices. Desirable requirements Experience with C++, Cuda, DirectX, MATLAB. Experience with MS Visual Studio, ReSharper, Azure DevOps.
