The successful candidate will support the Computing and ICT team by sharing and modelling the school’s vision and values in everyday work and practice.
Those applicants with experience would be involved in developing and motivating staff, setting high expectations, contributing to rigorous and on-going self-evaluation and taking responsibility for leading specific areas/initiatives to secure further school wide improvements.
Those new to the profession can expect a fully structured support programme for the duration of their induction period. They can expect to benefit from mentors who are experienced and accredited in delivering the Early Career Framework as well as excellent internal and external CPD provision from a school which was designated Lead Partner School for ECT mentoring and training by the University of Gloucestershire.

A Computing and ICT teacher works as part of the Computing and ICT (CICT) Team to assist the school community in their duty to ensure that the Trusts develops an ethos built around its vision and values.
The Teacher of CICT will:
-deliver the highest quality of Teaching and Learning through being an effective
teacher who challenges and supports all students to achieve their best by:
• Inspiring trust and confidence in students and colleagues.
• Building team commitment amongst students and colleagues.
• Engaging and motivating students.
• Analytic thinking.
• Taking positive action to improve the quality of student’s learning
-maintain a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of the teaching of your subject(s) and to take account of wider educational developments relevant to your work.
Reporting to: Head of CICT
Responsible to: Teaching staff and other relevant personnel within the subject team.
Liaising with: all staff, External Agencies and Parents/Carers
The specific duties and responsibilities pertaining to a Teacher of CICT are to be read in conjunction with all the School’s Protocols, which should be complied with at all times.
Teaching:
To undertake an appropriate programme of teaching in accordance with the duties of a
standard scale teacher which are:
-To teach, students according to their educational needs, including the setting and
marking of work to be carried out by the student in school and elsewhere.
-To assess, record and report on the attendance, progress, development and attainment
of students and to keep such records as are required.
-To provide, or contribute to, oral and written assessments, reports and references
relating to individual students and groups of students.
-To ensure that ICT, Literacy, Numeracy and school subject specialism(s) are
reflected in the teaching/learning experience of students
-To undertake a designated programme of teaching.
-To ensure a high-quality learning experience for students which meets internal and
external quality standards.
-To prepare and update subject materials.
-To use a variety of delivery methods which will stimulate learning appropriate to
student needs and demands of the syllabus.
-To maintain discipline in accordance with the school’s procedures, and to encourage
good practice with regard to punctuality, behaviour, standards of work and homework.
-To undertake assessment of students as requested
