We are looking to recruit an experienced and skilled school support staff to be part of the Altus School’s new programme of outreach support for students in mainstream settings. The Altus School is developing, in collaboration with the Local Authority through the SEND and AP Change Programme, a programme of outreach support for primary aged students who are showing signs of challenging behaviour and could be at risk of permanent exclusion. You will be based in our primary centre at Rutherford House in Quedgeley and will have the chance to join our growing staff team of qualified teachers, HLTAs, Thrive practitioners and a play therapist. Your work, however, will be in mainstream schools where you will be delivering interventions to individual or small groups of students, providing advice and guidance to help young people achieve success in their home schools.

The successful candidate will be experienced in working with young people with complex and often challenging behaviours. They will have a proven track record of supporting young people to achieve success both in and out of the classroom. Applicants should view our Relationships and Behaviour Policy and be happy to work in a trauma informed, relational way with young people. A team player who can work independently, you will be a positive representative of Altus School as we develop our setting across the county.
