1:1 Support Teaching Assistant

Uley C of E Primary School is looking to appoint a 1:1 Support Teaching Assistant with experience to support a KS1 child with an EHCP. You will need to have an understanding of the details within the EHCP and be able to work closely with school staff to ensure the best possible outcomes. You will also need to be able to work independently to prepare learning resources and materials for lessons that enable children to access the curriculum.

Also within this role, there is the opportunity to support a KS2 child for 30 minutes a day during lunchtime play 12.15 – 12.45, 4 days a week until 20th December, 3 days a week until 14th February and 2 days a week until 11th April. Days to be confirmed.

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant who has the following attributes:
• A variety of communication skills to respond to the needs of the child.
• Empathy and understanding of children’s individual learning abilities
• Patience and a good sense of humour
• Adaptability
• Willing to go the extra mile for the children in their care
• Works well within a team
• Is able to build honest and positive relationships with parents

Hours and Salary:
15 hours curriculum time Grade 5 [11-14] 15 hours &
Midday Supervisor Grade 2 (2-3)

This is a fixed term appointment and will continue pending a review of the EHC Plan or the pupil leaves the school.
