Cheltenham

Working Times:

  • 2 week on 2 week off live in rota
  • This will be on a rolling rota.
  • There will be 20 days holiday per year.

About the employer:

I am a (36yo), male who uses a wheelchair living in the Cheltenham area of (Gloucestershire). I have a relaxed personality, am very chatty and like to go out and about to social events and day trips. I also like to have my own personal space and alone time where I like to game and play poker. I also enjoy holidaying in the UK and abroad. I would like to recruit my own Personal Care Assistant to work and live in my own home.

Summary of duties:

  • Transferring me in and out of bed using my sliding board.
  • Washing and dressing. Showering, using an overhead hoist and shower chair.
  • To take care of all my personal care needs, includingbowel care and bladder management inc catheter. (Training provided)
  • Must be fit and healthy as I may need pushing around on day trips.
  • To help me to prepare food, snacks and drinks.
  • Driving me to appointments or any other places I may need to go.
  • To accompany me on holidays and day trips in UK and abroad. (must be eligible to travel to all countries) assignments may be over 2 weeks if holidaying.
  • Assistance hosting family and friends at home.
  • Domestic assistance ensuring my home and garden.
  • Assisting me with my medication.
  • Going out in the evening,cinema, other day trips or to see friends. Some late nights required.
  • Assisting me with paperwork and writing.

The person they are looking for:

  • Be able to work on a permanent basis do not need to be local.
  • Hold a valid driving licence.
  • Previous care experience not essential but desired.
  • Be able to occupy yourself and have your own interests.
  • You should be fun with an outgoing personality for when I travel with a calm and patient disposition for when I suffer with pain.
  • You should have a can do and professional attitude to your work.
  • Be able to follow instructions, as well as being able to work on your own initiative.
  • Be able to live in 24/7 and fit in with the work rota.  The role would be doing 2 weeks on 2 weeks off from a rolling already planned rota. This may differ on holidays.
  • Be willing to drive some long distances and be a confident driver.
  • Be willing to spend some nights up late past midnight.
  • Must be competent in English writing and speaking.
  • Be willing to cover other Pa`s holidays.

Salary: £32,000pa min before tax. Exact wages to be discussed at interview. Option to earn up to £39,000pa
