The Vacancy

Dean Close Foundation are looking to appoint a new Catering assistant to join our Catering Department. This role is a part-time position, working 35 weeks per year, and we are offering a pay rate of £11.44 per hour.

The primary role is to support the Catering Manager and wider catering department and to assist in the provision of a professional food service to the pupils and staff at the school.  Other roles and responsibilities include:

  • To assist at service times, as directed, in a friendly and helpful manner.
  • To assist in the day-to-day receiving, checking and storing all stock coming into the kitchen.
  • To load and unload dishwashing machine ensuring all the dishes, cutlery, etc are clean and dry and put away in their proper places.
  • To maintain the Foundation standards of hygiene and cleanliness throughout.
  • To comply with the cleaning schedules and rotas ensuring the highest possible standards.
  • To report any customer complaints or comments and take action, if at all possible, to satisfy the customer.

Any other reasonable request from the Foundation, Catering Manager or Supervisor.
Ideally, we would like to appoint a candidate an experience catering assistant who has a Level 2 in Food Safety and Hygiene qualification, however, we would be able to provide training for this for suitable people.
