We are currently seeking experienced Senior Healthcare Assistants who are ready to hit the ground running in residential care home settings. As part of our team, you will collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide essential support to vulnerable adults, assisting them with their daily tasks and activities, including the administration of medication.

As a Senior Healthcare Assistant, you will undertake a challenging yet highly rewarding role. Building upon the main responsibilities of a healthcare assistant, this senior position entails additional responsibilities and greater accountability. The following list outlines some of your key responsibilities while on assignment; however, it is not exhaustive:

  • Administer medication with precision and adherence to protocols, ensuring the well-being and safety of residents.
  • Assume leadership responsibilities during shifts, effectively coordinating and guiding the healthcare team.
  • Engage in professional and warm communication with all visitors to the home, ensuring a welcoming environment.
  • Act as a key worker for a designated group of residents, providing companionship, and meeting their individual needs.
  • Participate in social activities within the home, fostering a sense of community and well-being.
  • Assist residents with personal hygiene requirements, ensuring their comfort and dignity.
  • Aid in dressing and grooming tasks to support residents’ daily routines.
  • Safely assist residents in mobility, ensuring their well-being and preventing accidents.
  • Collaborate with fellow team members in moving and handling activities, adhering to best practices and safety guidelines.
  • Contribute to meal service and provide feeding assistance as needed, ensuring proper nutrition and hydration for residents.
  • Support individuals and groups in engaging with social and physical activities, promoting overall well-being.
  • Aid with toileting tasks, respecting individuals’ varying capacities and maintaining their privacy

We are dedicated to selecting exceptional individuals to join our team of Senior Healthcare Workers. We have high expectations for our team members, as they play a crucial role in providing outstanding care and delivering exceptional value to our clients. The ideal candidate for this healthcare role possesses a unique combination of skills, qualifications, and personal attributes that enable them to excel in their caregiving responsibilities. While specific requirements may vary based on the role and specialization, the following qualities are generally sought after:

  • Be willing to commit to at least 16 hours per week
  • Possess the necessary background and qualifications, such as long service experience, an NVQ Level 3 in HSC or an equivalent certification.
  • Exhibit strong time management skills, allowing for efficient and effective task prioritization.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills to facilitate clear and compassionate interactions with patients, their families, and the healthcare team.
