Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated & compassionate SEND Support 1:1 Assistant to join our team & provide personalised support to a pupil who has recently entered Year 5. The successful candidate will work closely with the pupil to promote self-regulation, sensory output, social skills & early learning development. This position is fixed term for the duration of statement for SEN.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one support & assistance to the pupil in various early learning & social activities.
- Support the pupil in developing self-regulation strategies to manage emotions & behaviour effectively.
- Create a supportive & inclusive environment that encourages the pupil’s social interaction & engagement with peers.
- Implement sensory activities & techniques to support the pupil’s sensory processing needs.
- Assist the pupil in participating in classroom activities, adapting materials & resources as necessary.
- Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENDCO.
- Monitor and record the pupil’s progress and development, providing regular feedback to the teacher & SENDCO.

Requirements:
- Experience working with pupils with SEND, particularly in areas of self-regulation, sensory processing, social skills, and early learning development.
- Understanding of & familiarity with strategies & interventions to support pupils with SEND in an educational setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, parents & colleagues.
- Patience, empathy & resilience to effectively support pupils with diverse needs & challenges.
- Relevant qualifications or training in SEND support or early childhood education are desirable but not essential.
